ISLAND ROADS ARE VERY NARROW AND SOME SIGNS MAY BE UNFAMILIAR TO YOU - PLEASE READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION CAREFULLY.

	YELLOW LINES	A single yellow line painted along the roadside parallel to the kerb prohibits vehicles from waiting or parking DAY or NIGHT
	PARKING CLOCKS	All public parking in Guernsey FREE. However, at car parks marked DISC ZONE you must use a Parking Clock (like the one shown above) to indicate your time of arrival. Some 'on-street' parking places are also DISC ZONES, especially in the main town of St. Peter Port.  Most of the parking near the centre of St. Peter Port is short-stay (two hours or less). Long-stay parking (five hours or more) is generally further away and fills up early in the morning. The major car parks are on the Harbour piers, the largest being the North Beach area where two hour parking spaces can nearly always be found. If you need to park in Town or at the Harbour for longer than two hours, for example if you wish to take a day trip to a neighbouring island or France, we suggest you take a taxi or use the Park-and Ride service. This operates from Footes Lane.
	DISABLED PARKING	Disabled visitors to the Island may park in any 'short stay' disc car park for up to a maximum of two hours, and may use special designated disabled parking places provided they display a permit (disabled badge) issued in a participating European country as well as a parking clock.
	PEDESTRIAN AREAS	Vehicles are prohibited from some of the streets in St.Peter Port's town centre (such as the High Street) without a permit.
	PARKING AT NIGHT	Vehicles parked at night must show lights unless they are parked in a DISC ZONE or an approved parking space. Single parking lights are not allowed.
